The Latest on a deadly blast in the center of Aleppo

A blast in a Syrian military base killed at least 13 people and injured dozens on Tuesday in the city of Aleppo, Syrian state media reported.

The death toll, which included a pregnant woman, was the deadliest attack in the besieged city since President Bashar al-Assad launched a nationwide offensive last month to regain control over it from a rebel-held alliance.

The blast targeted the base at the entrance to the town of Rastan near the Lebanese border, state media said, without elaborating.
